Alex Vela CFP® is responsible for the long-term management of client portfolios and their unique financial planning goals. He believes in cultivating meaningful relationships with clients and values the positive impact that comes from developing solid financial strategies for the future.
As a member of FBB’s investment committee, he shares responsibility for the development and oversight of fixed-income investment strategies and processes. Alex also oversees trading operations for the firm.
Alex received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation in 2018 from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He is currently a candidate in the CFA curriculum.
Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland. Upon graduation, Alex moved to New York where he worked as an equity trader.
Alex is a Maryland native and grew up in the Bethesda area. When it comes to staying active, Alex frequents the golf course and enjoys taking ski trips across the country. He also enjoys watching Maryland football and basketball.
